RMS Construction breaks ground on new apartments
STAMFORD, CT – Randy Salvatore, president of award-winning Stamford-based RMS Construction, has been building upon his success as one of the Connecticut’s leading commercial and residential developers ever since he first broke ground as a builder in 1995. Now he’s doing it again with his newest designer styled, architecturally chic apartment complex at 1340 Washington Boulevard in downtown Stamford, Connecticut.
Salvatore has just begun construction on the fully approved 1.75-acre site this week, laying the foundation for 124 spacious new residential units that will continue to raise the bar in upscale downtown living. Similar in style and design to his sought-after apartments at the blvd, at 1201 Washington Boulevard in Stamford, 100% leased in just 12 weeks, each of the one- and two-bedroom units will feature the high end interior amenities and New York style luxuries that today’s discriminating clientele is looking for. Standard interior features will include sleek custom designed Scandinavian kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, stainless steel countertops with built in sinks and energy-efficient appliances, including individual washers and dryers, bamboo hardwood floors, nine foot ceilings, track lighting, walk-in closets, French balconies and large windows. RMS Construction employs the latest green technologies in its environmentally responsible building practices, further appealing to today’s sophisticated, eco-conscious clientele.
Says Randy Salvatore of the new generation of renters “They are sophisticated and want to come home to a place that exudes luxury, that says they’re on the right road to success, where they can entertain in style and meet like-minded, upwardly mobile professionals like themselves.”
He says many of them seek the same luxury lifestyle and freedoms they would find in New York City but at a lower cost, “where they can get more bang for their buck but not miss out on any of the conveniences of urban living. They want to walk to the store, to the movies, to bars and restaurants, leaving their cars and cares at home. They want to be part of a club, socializing with their neighbors in commonly shared but private gathering spaces for residents only.” Downtown Stamford provides them with great shopping, entertainment and cultural venues like they would find in big cities like Manhattan, says Salvatore, with the added suburban advantages for being near parks, beaches and the Long Island Sound for a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities.
“We offer tenants unique access to a community of friends and connections that are so important to a generation that knows the value of networking,” said Salvatore, who added that the people who lease his apartments appreciate Stamford’s convenient location near the city and other Connecticut towns. “These new apartments will also offer residents exclusive club-like privileges including an on-site billiards and game room, contemporary TV lounge and screening room, fully equipped fitness center, café, and roof-top terrace so they can socialize and make new friends in a safe and welcoming environment.”
Salvatore, awarded 2010 Developer of the Year by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and Builder of the Year by the Home Builder’s Association of Connecticut, said the apartments will be completed and ready for occupancy in late spring of 2012.
1340 Washington Boulevard is located across from the Stamford branch of the University of Connecticut, within walking distance of downtown Stamford’s vibrant shopping, business and entertainment district, and the Metro North Railroad.
